Interesting elements
The use of the building by the AFP added a layer of security considerations for the project that concerned not only the ground floor perimeter works and circulation but also the treatment of the facade. The approach taken to minimised the visual impact of control measures and integrated these into the landscaping.
The design provided larger contemporary office areas, improved way-finding, and efficiencies with: new efficient glazing and frames, insulation, new air conditioning, lighting and lifts. The building achieved a 5 Star Green Star ‘As built’ base building rating, which added an additional layer of accountability both in the implementation of the design and in the administration for the building contractor.
